Welcoming New Leadership

We are thrilled to welcome Brendan Buckley as our new Executive Director! Brendan brings deep experience, strong relationships in the wrestling community, and a servant-leader mindset that aligns with our mission. He spent nine years leading Beat the Streets New York, where he guided major program growth, helped secure a permanent training center, expanded opportunities in girls wrestling, and led record-setting fundraising, including a 2023 benefit that drew thousands and raised more than $1.3 million. He previously served as head coach at Cal Poly and Columbia University, and was an NCAA All-American during his collegiate career. At TYWLC, Brendan will focus on strengthening programs, building partnerships, and driving long term sustainability.

Third Year with Jordan Burroughs: Camden Clinic

For the third year in a row we partnered with Jordan Burroughs for a free clinic at the Salvation Army Kroc Center in Camden, New Jersey. Many of the participants stepped on a wrestling mat for the first time. What began with nerves quickly turned into wide smiles and newfound confidence.To ensure every child could fully participate, we outfitted campers with wrestling shoes for the clinic. Each camper also took home a custom backpack filled with school supplies and a camp t shirt, generously donated by the All We See Is Gold Foundation. The day focused on courage and curiosity. We watched dozens of young athletes face their fears, try something brand new, and walk away curious about our sport. This annual clinic has become a tradition of seed planting for opportunity and community.

“This year’s “Stronger Together” summer clinic brought young wrestlers from across Trenton together for five days of skill-building, games, and team bonding. Led by Coach Ray Bethea and a team of dedicated coaches and guest speakers, campers worked on technique, competed in fun team games, and learned what it means to support one another on and off the mat.

Each day focused on a different wrestling position and ended with powerful messages about teamwork and growth. The energy was high, the effort was real, and the message was clear: we’re always stronger together.
